Building the Story (Part 1): Everything is Good (Contextual Enquiry)

Remind your pupils of the biblical creation story which tells of God creating a wonderful world where everything is good. He invited Adam and Eve to enjoy all the good things in this creation, but warned them not to eat from a particular tree.

Play the downloadable video Everything is Good.

This rule is like the maker’s instructions, given so that Adam and Eve can enjoy all the good things God has created, and live in perfect peace with one another and with God.

For differentiated teaching you could scaffold some discussion about whether that fruit and that tree were real physical items or whether that is symbolism in the story – about obedience to God in the way in which we live our lives.
